How a best friend faked the death of his friend to have his wife
I met this lady a few weeks ago while visiting my grandmother in the village and her story made me cry and feel her dearly. This is what happened to her
She was married for seven years to a great guy then a miracle, and the husband was recruited to the army. This was a great thing as they were struggling to survive with their three children. They thought it a blessing, and indeed it was. The husband had a best friend who used to come with at home daily and sometimes he spends the night at their place. Little did they know the friend was a snake they were harbouring. After the training, the husband was assigned to go to Somalia for, and the friend was left to take care of the family while around.
There were communications between her and the husband for a while through the friend, and then it becomes less frequent, and at last, it stopped. She tried to communicate, but she could not then the news come “her husband was dead after an attack at the camp” she tried to get the body of her husband to burry but at no avail. The friend had taken centre stage to do everything for her and the children. She did not believe that the husband was dead and was still hopeful that he might show up one day. This continued for a year, and finally, she had to accept the husband was gone.
Al this time the friend of the husband was making advances on her, but still, she could not give in. After a year and a half of waiting, she decided to accept the proposal f the best friend and eventually married him and moved out of her former home to leave the memories of her first husband. Three years down the line, she heard a knock at the door and when she opened, guess who she saw her husband risen from the dead. She said she did not know what to do or say at the man standing on her door. She fell and fainted, and when she regained consciousness, he was there beside her. She had so many questions that were unanswered and would want to get them same goes to her husband who was furious and confused.
When they found time to talk, it appeared the best friend was hiding letters from the wife that the guy was sending from the army base. In fact, the money that he sends did not reach her. That’s when he also realised his friend was the one who lied to the family about his death.
I didn’t get a chance to hear more about what happened from there, but all I could see was pain and devastation on her voice. This made me think, how many people are separated from their family by best friends?
